Air Jitters

I hate flying. Plain and simple. We did however survive our trip to and from North Carolina. We left the Twin Cities at a temperature of 17 degrees(yea I know I was excited it was above zero too) and landed later that day in Raliegh at a temperature of 65. I was happy as a school girl, I was strippin off layers before we got to the baggage claim. All in all it was a fun and productive week.
One goal of the trip was to make it over to Charlotte Yarn, a yarn store whose group I belong to on Ravelry. It was soooo worth the two hour drive in torential rain!!! I got some absolutly beatiful yarn there, so nummy!!! I'll have pictures when my projects are done, no peeking!!! The gals there were so sweet!! If you are ever in Charlotte I definetly recommend stopping by the shop.
The other and I suppose more important goal for the week (matter of opinion there) was my job interview. I think it went well. Everyone seemed really nice, and the hospital isn't far from the apartments we were looking at. They are still checking references so I'm hoping to hear from them soon. We picked out an apartment too. It won't be available until the middle of May at the earliest so the juggling of turning in notices and last days and such are still kind of up in the air.
I managed to get sunburnt whilst we were there. Yea I know it's sad. It makes perfect sense though if you think about it. A Minnesota girl who hasn't seen the sun since sometime in September spawled out on a deck in the sun wearing shorts and a t-shirt....... oh yea recipe for disaster. It wasn't bad, just enough to make me itch a little, but it was totally worth it!
This post I believe has gone on long enough. I'll go on about the downer of my trip, which most of you can guess was the retirement announcment by Brett Farve, but thats totally another post!!!

No Brett, Say it ain't sooooooo

The headline on pretty much every sports related website is in regards to the retirement of Brett Favre........I'm now in mourning. My Fiance says hey now you don't have to be a Packer fan anymore! Don't worry I punched him! The end of an era has truley come to pass. It is a sad day for those of us in Packer Country.

Rogue is Finished!!!!

Yes thats right, after just short of two months my Rogue hoodie is finished! I'm really happy with the way it turned out. In hindsight I wish I had knit it just a little longer, but overall I am very happy with it. I'll have pictures up soon, I have to hunt down some batteries for the camera!

The pain slowly heals...

Ok, so I think I am finally at a point where I can comfortably discuss football again. Just in time for the Super Bowl. My only hope now is that the Giants some how beat the Patriots......long shot I know....but it's all I got. So I turn to my knitting.
My rogue is almost done, the body is blocked as well as one sleeve and I'm working on the second one. I'm going to start sewing up the hems this weekend. I'm soo wishing I was at home today, instead I'm at work. It's a blizzard outside, yesterday it was 40 above zero, today we are going to get to 20 BELOW zero...yea I love Minnesota winters too.
I think in my 20 some years I'd get used to the constant enviromental changes, but I'm still confused about the whole global warming thing.....we aren't seeing it!

body is done!

Well the main knitting is done, I have to hem the bottom and all of that fun stuff yet but the majority of the knitting is done! Boy was that hood a PIA!!! I kind of fudged some of it and I think it came out ok, I don't have anyone else's project right next to mine to compare, but I think it looks good! I gor a little off with some of my cables while grafting the top, and as for grafting the live stitches to the border edge for the back of the hood, I just picked up and knitting the same number of stitches on the hood edge and then grafted them together.

Heaven!

Last night I saw heaven on earth. Yes my friends, I'm sure. It is a place called Lambeau Field. Last night my beloved Green Bay Packers came back against all adversity to beat the Seattle Seahawks and their diabolical leader Mike Holmgren (who probably wished now that he had stayed in Green Bay). The snow started falling in the first quarter and the Packers seemed only to draw power from it. The harder the snow fell, the harder they pushed on. It still brings a tear to my eye just thinking about it now. By halftime you couldn't see the field and by the end of the third quarter the grounds crew had switched from brooms to shovels to clear the yard lines. To see them battle back like they did, and then effectively crush the opposition only restored my hopes that we can defeat whomever stands in our way of a Super Bowl title. Don't you think the Lombardi Trophy belongs any where else but Green Bay???? I think not!!!

My Gato is home!!!

Yup my little gato is back where he belongs in front of his food dish. A neighbor of mine discovered him in their garage! He managed to run in there. Luckily I had given her husband one of the posters I had made and the recongnized him from the picture!!! He's dirty but he's home, and little does he know he's getting a bath later!!! Now maybe I can get some sleep!
